Bumblebee X 5GigE
The Bumblebee® X stereo vision camera delivers high-performance 3D depth sensing with long-range precision, robust AI integration, and IP67-rated industrial reliability. Built on Teledyne’s scalable stereo vision platform, it reflects over 20 years of expertise and drives continued innovation. Bumblebee X provides accurate depth and detailed imagery for indoor robotics, outdoor inspection, and autonomous systems.
Dual Path Stereo Processing
Provides real-time 3D depth using Semi-Global Block Matching (SGBM) directly on the camera, or streams 12-bit rectified stereo images for external algorithms, delivering deployment-ready depth and detailed data for advanced applications.
Long-Range Depth Precision
Delivers 3D depth from 0.5–20 m with millimeter accuracy at 1 m, extending use across diverse applications. FOV models at 60°, 80°, or 105° provide options for the best balance of precision and coverage.
Industrial-Grade Ruggedness
Withstands vibration, shock, and harsh weather. The IP67-rated housing and robust design maintain calibration stability, reducing downtime and ensuring consistent accuracy in industrial and outdoor use.
Flexible FPGA Architecture
Firmware-upgradable FPGA with 5GigE® PoE, multi-camera sync, and projector support. Cross-platform compatibility with Windows®, Linux®, Jetson™, and ROS2 ensures seamless integration and long lifecycle support.
Why Stereo?
Stereo vision generates 3D depth by comparing two synchronized images, creating dense, accurate depth maps without active illumination. This passive approach works in varied lighting conditions and in environments where active sensors are impractical. A single capture delivers both high-resolution imagery and depth data, streamlining perception workflows.

Stereo Vision Applications
Palletization / Depalletization

Detects pallet size, position, and load shape to guide robots with precision. Long-range accuracy and multiple FOVs handle large or mixed loads in busy warehouses.
Pick & Place

Pinpoints object position and size for exact placement. Low-latency depth keeps pace with high-speed automated lines.
Bin Picking

Finds and orients parts in cluttered bins for fast, accurate robotic grasping. Sub-millimeter precision ensures consistent picks every time.
Autonomous Mobile Robot

Delivers dense 3D data for obstacle detection and navigation. Rugged, low-power design keeps robots moving in busy indoor and industrial spaces.
Automated Guided Vehicle

Powers fixed-route navigation and docking with built-in obstacle avoidance. Works in any lighting without emitters, reducing system complexity.
Outdoor Robotics

Maps and detects obstacles in construction, mining, agriculture, and ports. IP67 sealing and vibration-tested design thrive in harsh outdoor conditions.
Disparity Maps and 3D Point Clouds Deliver Precise Depth Data for Automation, Inspection, and Navigation
Object Detection and Localization
Captures disparity data to determine the depth and placement of objects for automated handling and accurate volumetric measurement in warehouse environments.

Height & Volume Measurement
Generates detailed disparity maps to assess stacked items or large objects, streamlining logistics and inventory management.
Outdoor Inspection & Detection
Identifies curbs, terrain changes, and natural obstacles from disparity data for safe, autonomous movement in unpredictable outdoor conditions.
