The combination of dark current and signal current should not saturate the amplifier output limits to ensure the signal is maintained in the linear region.

This calculator assumes a two-stage amplifier, with a 10x gain between the first stage DC-coupled gain stage and the second stage AC-coupled gain stage.

This model uses the Linear Responsivity Relationship to correct for off-peak response. This is valid for wavelengths below the peak to within 10% percent.

This simplified model is valid for a monochromatic signal, such as from a laser
